Website Terms of Use

These terms apply when you visit or use Uobo's websites and free tools, including uobo.ca, cars.uobo.ca and uoboconnect.com (the "Sites"). The Sites are run by Uobo Canada Inc. ("Uobo", "we", "us"). By using them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

Texting Uobo's personal car agent has its own Shopper Terms and Text Messaging Terms. Dealerships using Uobo Connect are covered by their agreement with us. Where one of those applies to what you are doing, it wins over these terms.

1. What the Sites are#

The Sites give information about Uobo and Uobo Connect and offer free tools for car shoppers and car owners. The tools are free to use, with no account.

2. Information, not advice#

• The tools and articles give general information and estimates. They are not financial, legal, tax, insurance or mechanical advice.
• Results depend on what you enter and on the data behind the tool. Where a tool uses published data, the tool says where it comes from and when it was checked.
• Prices, rates, fees and rules change and differ by province and by dealership. Check anything that matters with the dealer, lender, insurer or authority before you act.
• Before you buy a used car, get an independent inspection and a vehicle history report.

3. Using the Sites#

You may use the Sites for lawful, personal or business-evaluation purposes. Do not:

• break the law, or help someone else to;
• interfere with the Sites or try to get into parts you are not meant to reach;
• scrape or copy the Sites in bulk, or use automated tools to harvest data, without our written permission;
• send false or misleading information through our forms;
• use the Sites to build a competing product.

4. Our content#

The content on the Sites (text, graphics, logos, software, data presentations) belongs to Uobo or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may view it and share a link to it. You may not copy, sell or create works from it without our written permission. Data we take from public sources remains subject to the terms of those sources.

5. Things you send us#

If you send us a message, a demo request or feedback, you give us permission to use it to answer you and to improve our services, as the Privacy Policy describes. Do not send us information you do not have the right to share.

6. Links and third parties#

The Sites link to other websites, dealerships and tools we do not control. We are not responsible for them, their content, or what they do with your information.

7. No guarantees#

The Sites are provided "as is". We work to keep them accurate and available, but we do not promise they will be error-free, uninterrupted or free of harmful components. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

8. Our liability#

To the extent the law allows, Uobo and its directors, employees and suppliers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on the Sites. Our total liability for any claim about the Sites is limited to CAD $100.

9. Governing law#

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Courts in Ontario can hear disputes about them. If you are a consumer, this does not take away any right you have to use the courts of the place where you live.

10. Changes#

We may change these terms or the Sites at any time. We post the new version here with a new date. If you keep using the Sites after that, you accept the new terms.
